Kazbegi National Park is located on the northern slopes of the mighty Caucasus range, and its protected area covers a total of over 8,700 hectares. At 5,047 metres above sea level, Kazbegi Mountain (or Mkinvartsveri) is the third highest mountain in Georgia, and is surrounded by myths and religious tradition.

Samtavro Transfiguration Orthodox Church and Nunnery of St. Nino in Mtskheta, Georgia, were built in the 4th century by King Mirian III of Iberia. The church was reconstructed in the 11th century by King George I and Catholicos-Patriarch Melkisedek. The famous Georgian monk Gabriel is buried in the yard of Samtavro Church.

The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, is the largest ecclesiastical construction extant in the country. According to legend, the cathedral rose on the site of Georgia's first Christian church of the fourty century. Outstanding Georgian architect Arsukisdze built the cathedral in 1010-1029.

The Jvari Temple - At the dawn of Christianity king Mirian gave an order to erect wooden cross on the mount situated in front of the ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta. Later on this place in 586-604 there was built one of the most popular architectural monuments in Georgia - Jvari (Cross).
